Loading ...This is a nice promotional video of the U.S. Virgin Islands Quarter release ceremony on September 28th, 2009. The coin was issued as part of the 2009 D.C. and U.S. Territories Quarter Program from the United States Mint.
Laced with quick sound bites, it does give a nice indicator of the excitement many in the islands felt over having a quarter honoring their territory.
"Today marks the culmination of an almost 12 year effort to have the U.S. Virgin Islands recognized as part of the U.S. Mint's program that promotes the uniqueness of our country and the persistency and history of its states, and now its territories," exclaimed Donna M. Christensen, delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives.
