Royal Australian Mint Processes and Coins

"I think, in our own small way, the Mint is a custodian of history, because we all know that coin's last thousands of years."
"We really need to look at coins that have a wide interest to the community."
These are just a couple of the statements included on this promotional video from the Royal Australian Mint. It was meant to introduce some of their 2008 products, but the video still shows some interesting processes of the Mint as well as the artistic and technical abilities of the people who work there.
The Mint commenced operations on February 22, 1965 with a ceremony including His Royal Highness, Prince Philip. As the sole supplier of Australia's circulating coinage, it has since produced over 13 billion coins, with a capacity to make two million per day.
Along with the circulating coins, the Royal Australian Mint also produces an extremely nice collection of collectible coins. Take a few moments to watch this video, it is well worth your time.
