This video visits an archeologist's site that could be Cleopatra's tomb. Top archeologist Zahi Hawass reveals his belief that they are very close to a major discovery.

Not far from Alexandria, Egypt and under the limestone at the Temple of Taposiris Magna, a series of chambers was discovered. Inside, clues were found indicating a tomb for royalty. An alabaster mask fragment with a cleft chin resembling Mark Antony, nearly two dozen ancient coins inscribed with Cleopatra's name, and 10 gilded mummies typically found buried close to royalty were recovered. All of which suggest Cleopatra's lost tomb may be within reach, according to Egypt's chief archeologist, Zahi Hawass.

The team of archaeologists found the ancient artifacts when excavating beside a 2,300 year-old temple built by Ptolemy II. The evidence, especially the gilded mummies, has convinced Hawass that it is a burial place of someone very important, and possibly the famous lovers.

Cleopatra and Mark Antony failed when they challenged Caesar Augustus for control of the Roman Empire two thousand years ago. The two lovers chose suicide over captivity. The Roman historian Plutarch said Caesar allowed the lovers to be buried together. The tomb, however, has remained one of the greatest mysteries.
